Tac-o-Tac?

Visual jamming -- a game for two or more artists.

After I told Robaire that story, he told me this one:

He says that while he was growing up as an American in Paris, there was a show on French TV that featured illustrators such as Möbius, the great comic-book artist. Guests on the show took turns drawing an impromptu scene on a single, large piece of paper. The resulting piece of art was a collaboration of several very good professional illustrators, just playing around.

As much fun as this is to watch, it's even more fun to do. So Robaire has always played this game with his artistically inclined friends, both in art school in France and at college after he moved to the USA -- and, needless to say, here at Ideas to Images.

So when we attended the Seybold Conference on Electronic Publishing in San Francisco, we had a really great time in the off-hours. Wild and crazy guys that we are, we went to the stationery store, bought a sketch pad and some pens, and brought them back to the hotel room for a rousing round of TAC-O-TAC!

The outcome of this art attack is currently on display here in the FunZone Gallery.
